Dynamic, Active & Positive Individuals Required

A young adult male needs you to support him to achieve a rich, fulfilling and joyful life. This position offers you the opportunity to support an individual on the autism spectrum to meet communication, leisure, academic and vocational goals. Using evidence-based psychological methodology, this position involves the administration of a unique, extensive, and dynamic residential program. The individual being supported in this residential program is physically active, artistic/creative, and involved in the local community. This position requires a support person to accompany and facilitate him in these activities.
 

DAILY ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Outings: IMAX, museums, art galleries, Butchart Gardens, venues, etc
-Swimming, Badminton, Table Tennis, Zumba at Local & Regional Recreation Centres
-Hiking (Mount Doug, Mount Tolmie, Swan Lake, Mount Work, Gowlland Tod, Goldstream, etc.)
- Jogging/power walking within parks and community
- Leisure pursuits such as drawing, digital art, sculpture, board games, baking etc.
- Supervising the client’s volunteer work within the community

 REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to actively learn while embracing a positive outlook/attitude.
- B.C. Ministry (PSSG) Criminal Record Check (financial assistance may be available)
- Standard First Aid with CPR C and AED (financial assistance may be available)
- Food Safe Level 1 (financial assistance may be available)
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence (vehicle provided for outings)
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Ability to legally work in BC/Canada, Minimum of 19 years old.
- Minimum of two shifts per week
- Attendance of team meetings and consultations

HOURS OF WORK:  Shifts available every day of the week (including weekends)
Day shifts: 7:30am – 3:30pm
Afternoon shifts: 3:15pm – 10:30pm
Location: Residence in Oak Bay
Starting wage: $25.50 per hour
Senior wage: $26.50 per hour
